Why I am a Mormon

When mum and dad got married dad agreed to once they got married she would take the kids to her church so Growing up I was methodist and I went to church with my grandmother. Learnt all the bible stories and all the songs. My dad was the only mormon and although we went with our grandma he never joined us. As we started to get older my dad wanted for us to come with him to church and so on sundays he would ask to have us come with him to church in always ended up in an arguement and no one ended up going to any church. From what I had learnt about God, I said a prayer one evening and asked if my family could just be togther and be happy. Not long after my mum announced to my brothers and I that we will be going to my dads church I started to cry because that wasnt what I wanted his church was weird I didnt know anyone there. I wanted dad to change his mind and come to my nanas church. But what I did learn was that the Lord truely does answer prayers, that he does hear a 9year olds prayer, but he answers in his own time and in his own way. I know that this is where God wants me and my family to be, and I know that this church holds the power to bind families for eternity.

How I live my faith

As a youth growing up in this church I have done so many activites, been part of many different shows, taught many different dances, sang and taught tooo many songs to even count. I have loved every minute of it. Growing up as a youth in this church I was able to live a life where I knew the good from the better not just the good from the bad. I learnt that we can live a good life or we can live life the best way. Gods way of living life is always the best way. Even though I many different influences around me I always knew where to go and whom to talk to for support. Through university having this understanding of God helped me with all that was happening juggling everything relationships, family, studies and work. I know that by putting Him first in my life everthing always always fell into place. Im far from perfect but I know this journey in life is all about growing and improving little bit at a time.

What is the Book of Mormon?

Tracy Ahokava
Book of Mormon to me is another evidence of Gods love for his children. What better way to show Gods love for His children then to have another account of another people in another land that testify of the exact same message that the bible does. By no means does it take anything away from the bible. God is so loving that He talks and gives the same message to not only the people in Jerusalem but also to the people in the ancient americas!!! God is GOOD!!! Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Tracy Ahokava
Where do I even begin.. earth, sky my breath of life my being, babies being born, animals creatures. What is there that tells us there is no God other than MAN itself that God created. the funny thing is that the extent of mens understanding is only just the start for God. Show more Show less
