Hi I'm Sam

I am a father of 5, grandfather to 9, a plumber, avid bass fisherman, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I enjoy watching college football and spending time with my family. I also enjoy the outdoors, especially bass fishing and hunting. My wife and I have been married for 34 years. We are parents to 5 children and grandparents to 9. I have been in the plumbing business for 36 years and currently I am a co-owner of a plumbing business in AZ. I spent my 2-year mission in the New York City area and enjoyed it immensely. I enjoy meeting new people and considering new ideas.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it gives my life full meaning. It allows me to explore the world around me but provides guidelines and boundaries that I can use to keep me on track with eternal goals. It helps me to understand my role in society and the Lord's plan for me and my family. Through the church I can better understand the role Jesus Christ play's as my Savior and friend and what I need to do to return and live with my Heavenly Father and loved ones. Through the teachings of modern day prophets as well as ancient ones, I can know and then act upon the truths provided by a loving heavenly father that wants me back home with him someday. Through the teachings of the church, I can avoid many of the pitfalls of this life and find the strength and knowledge to deal with life's challenges. My religion gives me great hope and joy!

How I live my faith

I strive to be a good neighbor and participate in outreach events within the community. As a newly called Bishop, I get to interact with all kinds of church members, both young and old as well as others that are not members of our church. I can see the good in people of all different faiths and backgrounds and how working together allows all of us to be happier when we serve each other.
