Hi I'm Karalee

I'm an artist, photographer, and performer. I speak to the heart through the eyes. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the arts, dance, reading, poetry, swimming and running. I graduated in fine art photography. I think and create in the visual world to help process the experiences and ideas I have as I go through life. My goal is to share these ideas through visual art and hopefully inspire others as we connect through visual language. I have created many works on the idea of imagination and exploring the corners of the mind without limits. I have also created many religious works and hope to continue to have opportunities to share my testimony of the gospel and the emotions I experience, through my work.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but I am continually learning what it means to be a member of this church. As a young teenager I asked the Lord for a confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel. I received inspiration telling me there was no need to receive an answer to something I already knew was true. My testimony has continued to grow in small steps as I slowly understand more and more of the gospel. It has been a challenging journey due to some bad choices of my own and other trials. But through these experiences I have felt the love of the Savior through the atonement in a very personal way. I have no doubt that Heavenly Father is aware of me personally. Receiving Priesthood blessings has been another confirmation of this. The gospel is my compass. I would be lost without it. I'm learning to receive answers to any and all questions I have regarding my life, by looking at them through the eyes of the gospel and the perspective of our Heavenly Father who can see so much more than we can. The gospel is the key to living life on this earth. I know it takes a lot of faith, but we don't need to know all the answers. We just need to know where to go to get them. And they will come in God's time. I am a Mormon because it feels like home, it's what I know. It makes sense. And it's cool.

How I live my faith

Because of my interest in photography, I have had the opportunity to serve by taking pictures of church events and sharing them with others. I am a member of a single's ward and there are many events and opportunities to gather and meet friends. I have also been involved in planning some of these activities. It's a great way to socialize as a single adult. Everyone is encouraged to bring friends and participate. My favorite event of the year is the annual talent show. It's fun, entertaining, and I enjoy taking pictures of all of the great talent acts. Recently I entered the LDS Art Contest that happens every three years. I'm anxious to see the results and hope to be able to participate in the exhibit that will be on display next year.
