Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a wife and mother of 5. I'm a runner. I love the good in humanity! I'm an optimist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

"Somewhere in my youth or childhood I must have done something good" . . . . for I have been blessed to be married to my best friend and to be mother to 5 of the most incredible little people the world has known. (Yes, I realize I'm biased.) I grew up in a family with all brothers and considered myself a tom boy, a hunter, an aspiring intellect (I no longer have any delusions there), an athlete and a loyal friend. As an adult I still love learning, althletics (especially running) and all things outdoorzy, but, I have discovered some delight in being girly too. And surprising, to an introvert like myself, I enjoy people. I love seeing personal triumphs, and the overcoming of obstacles and my heart cheers for the underdog! I guess it would be safe to say that I am an overall enthusiast of life!

Why I am a Mormon

I saw firsthand the examples of my parents from my infancy as they lived the Gospel of Jesus Chist. I was blessed through their righteous living. They taught me the value of prayer and at the tender age of about 5 I had an experience with prayer while being lost that solidified my budding understanding that Heavenly Father loved me and cared about my welfare. In my teenage years I discovered the scriptures for myself and loved how reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible made me feel. I felt peace and certainity and that beautiful reminder that Heavenly Father loved me! I saw in high school and college how living the Gospel brought safety and peace and I was spared much heartache as a result. It is important to note that I have not been exempt from all heartache. But, experiencing those difficultes with the perspective that the Gospel gives has made a tremendous difference in enduring my trials. I decided to serve a mission and my love and appreciation for our Savior and his perfect example grew exponentially! I am a Mormon because I want to follow Jesus Christ and to help everyone within my circle of influence to come to know and to be blessed by His Gospel too!

How I live my faith

I love a notion shared in the book "Anne of Green Gables", "Every (new) day is fresh with no mistakes in it." That is true because of Jesus and the blessing of repentence, allowing me to start each day fresh with no mistakes! Phew! Because I make many, especially as a mom. And that clean slate opportunity fuels my desire to better live my faith each day. I live my faith by serving my family as wife, mother and homemaker. I teach gospel principles to a delightful 6 year old children's class each Sunday. I volunteer as the Cub Scout commitee Chair for our pack. I love and try to live by the motto "Do Your Best!" Every month I have the blessing of being in contact with a handful of some of my dear friends as we share with each other encouragement and uplifting insights in the form of visiting teaching. Living my Faith has made, and continues to make me who I am and who I hope to be!!
