Hi I'm Jessica Schiesser Klakring

Married. Mormon. Momma.

About Me

I'm married to my best friend, and together we made a tiny human named Hallie. My husband is in the United States Air Force, and I raise our daughter at home. I decided to take a break in my education, I attended BYU but only completed 3 semester of school. I now blog about depression and anxiety, and try to focus on the simple things in life.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up with parents who were members, so at first it was an obvious decision for me to do what my parents had done. So at eight years old I decided that since my parents were happy with their decisions, then getting baptized would help me be happy too. Later on in my life, I grew to have a very close friend, who wasn't a member of the church. She seemed to be missing something, she always had questions about life and the meaning of it. She even began to doubt the worth of her own existence. As a eleven year old girl, I actually had answers to questions her parents didn't even know. It amazed her. I could back up what I said with scriptures, or just simple history facts. She seemed more and more interested in the church, and I slowly began to invite her to little activities. Like girls camp, or youth activities. My friend was eventually baptized, and later went on to serve a mission; by seeing her happiness grow, and see the understanding start to form in someone else's eyes, I realized there was nothing better out there. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints already has it all.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by learning everyday what it is to be Christ-like. I'm not perfect. Nor is anyone on this earth. I've made mistakes that have hurt very much, but I learned from them. I learned to take responsibility for my actions, and to fix what is broken. My faith is the source of happiness. If I wish to be happy, I must continually learn what this church teaches. It's not oppressive, or demanding. This church is comforting and helpful; everyday comes with new trials and obstacles and the only way to overcome them is to follow the teachings of this church.
