Hi I'm Gary

I'm a Mormon. I'm good at pretty much everything except singing and art, but great at nothing.

About Me

I'm a God-fearing husband, lover, father, grandfather, brother, friend, confidant, college graduate, CPA, hiker, over-the-hill athlete, and golfer. I work hard and do most things well but nothing great. I'm definitely not perfect and was blessed with a great conscience to guide me through this life. I try to live my life in such a way that my actions don't demand an explanation or an apology, but that's not always possible. The only thing I hate is being accused of things I didn't do.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was converted. I was raised in a Mormon family but never believed in what I was being taught until I figured it out for myself. I am very appreciative of the fact that I was raised by loving parents and was able to associate with people that were honest and god-fearing. I have always had a belief in God and don't have to go very far to see proof of his existence. I recieved a testimony of Jesus Christ as I lived a fairly clean life, read the scriptures and asked God for myself if the things I learned, read and lived were true. The confirmation of that search came through revelation, logic, and the inner feelings of my heart and soul.

How I live my faith

I am trying to workout my own salvation and that of my families by participating in church activities and providing service to those around me or within my circle of influence. I feel a strong obligation to serve the Lord in whatever capacity he calls me to. Those callings have come through the leaders of the Church and have been as varied as I could imagine. I have served in the Church as a missionary, teacher, youth leader, nursery worker, scoutmaster, employment specialist, priesthood leader, home teacher, councilor, and friend. Providing service to others gives me a good feeling and helps me to remain humble and child-like.
