Hi I'm David

I grew up in Ontario, Canada. I work as a psychologist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

At age 50 I changed careers, from working in the oil industry to becoming a psychologist. After returning to school to upgrade my education, I went to work for the local health authority. I now provide psychological services to patients in family physicians' offices. I am a father of three adult children and a grandfather of seven grandchildren. Beyond my family and work, my passions are great literature and films.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were converts to the church soon after they married, so I grew up in the church, and it has always been a vital part of my life. I have continued to remain a member of the church because its teachings are profound and meaningful to me. They provide a framework to view the world and my place in it, and how I am to live my life. I believe in God and in the atonement of his son Jesus Christ. I know that the church is the earthly organization to help us return to them with our loved ones. This is my testimony.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day, not just on Sundays. It is reflected in how I present myself each day to others and how I treat them. As a psychologist, I approach each patient thinking, "How can I help this person?" I see my work as an extension of my faith and commitment to follow Christ, and to help those who are most vulnerable. In my work in the church, I visit families each month to respond to their needs and to leave them with an uplifting message.
