Hi I'm Suzi

I grew up a California girl who loved art, music, family and making messes. I'm a mom, wife, and floral designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a large happy family. We sang around the piano, laughed around the dinner table, and ran around the neighborhood barefoot. I was always into a "project" that usually involved some kind of mess. Be it building, baking, (breaking) beautifying..I wanted to try it. I'm still that way! I probably think "I can do that!" far more often than I should.(my husband can second that) But since I'm also a penny pincher--I figure I may as well give it a try myself before paying someone else to do it. I always wanted to be a mother first and foremost. I am so grateful for my hardworking husband who does all he can to support our family so that this can be my primary focus. When I see my children being kind, being a leader, being confident in their beliefs, being charitable...I know that my focus has value and purpose. (At times when they are being none of those things--I try to remind myself of the good stuff!) I am also a small business owner of a floral design company. I love the creative process of working with clients--especially brides--to design just what they've been dreaming up. In whatever I'm doing--at home, work, or play--my favorite thing is truly connecting with people. A great connection will make my day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a devout latter-day saint family, and so have always been a member of the church. I have actively chosen to continue my life as a Mormon because I have seen and felt the joy and peace that comes from this gospel and living my life the way I feel the Lord would want me to. Throughout my life I have had many friends look to me for "sage wisdom" on dealing with challenges in their lives--thinking that somehow I had all the answers. I don't, but the gospel of Jesus Christ does. Time and again I've seen that many of the problems that friends of mine are having could have been completely avoided if they had chosen to follow God's commandments. I truly believe that all of His commandments were given to us because he wants us to be happy. I live my life in this gospel because of the sure footing on the path of life that I feel when I follow the Lord's way, and because of the sweet comfort I feel from the Holy Spirit when I do so.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to serve others through my membership in the church. I have developed a real love of teaching and have had opportunities to teach children, youth and adults. I love teaching because I find I learn so much in the process and I especially love feeling the Holy Ghost guide me when I teach. I've had the opportunitiy to use my love of the arts in the church. In fact my husband and I first became interested in eachother when preparing for a solo I was to sing in church and he was accompanying me on the piano :) I've conducted choirs, taught music to children and organized stage shows. Last year we did a Broadway Night production that was such fun! The many service opportunities I've had have helped me develop talents I didn't even know I had. They've also given me dear friendships of those I've worked with. These friendships are such a blessing to me. I live my faith by trying to keep our home a happy and wholesome place. I want those who come here to feel loved and safe. My life and abilities are a work in progress. There is much that I could do better. I know that when I turn to the Lord for guidance and support He can make much more of me than I could make of myself.
