Hi I'm Cindy

I am a wife, a mom, a daughter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have six children, only one that is still at home. I have 2 grandchildren and one on the way! I have been an elementary school teacher and am currently the Administrative Assistant for a small, non-profit Astronomical Society that publishes Astronomy Conference proceedings. But mostly, I am a wife and mom! I love to travel, read, sew, cook, and try anything new.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I choose to be. I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I was born into an LDS family but my family was not active or strong for many years. I knew that I was a Mormon but I didn't really understand what that meant for many, many years. I remember being baptized at the age of 9. It was the first time that I was really aware of the power of the priesthood in my life. When I came up out of the water, I felt whole, hopeful, and everything good there is to feel! At the age of 10 I was in a very severe car accident, which broke both of my femar bones. The doctors said I would never have the use of my right leg again. I was given a priesthood blessing and when those righteous men's hands were laid on my head I felt a power that was real and I KNEW that I would be o.k. And I am o.k. I have full use of my legs and have lived a healthy, strong life. That was the beginning of my testimony to the truthfulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I feel the love of my Heavenly Father everyday of my life and have had countless experiences throughout my life, both large and small, that prove to me that my Heavenly Father knows and loves me...as he does ALL of His children! He knows us individually, He loves us personally. He wants us to return to Him and with the ordinances available to us here and now, we can be with our loved ones for eternity!

How I live my faith

I am currently serving as the President of the Women's Organization in our local church unit or ward. I enjoy the opportunity this gives me to love and serve my friends and neighbors. This life is all about loving one another and giving of ourselves, ministering to each other to help strengthen ourselves, our families, and those around us. Serving in the church helps me to become a better me so that I can help and lift those around me. It's what life is about!! Learning, progressing, and growing together so we can return to our Heavenly Father and be together forever.
