Hi I'm Katie

I'm a wife, a mother, a runner and a student of the gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

About Me

I am a mother to 3 children who challenge me each day to be better and a wife to the most amazing man that could have ever come into my life! I love serving in the church, and going to church services on Sundays helps me feel rejuvinated and ready for the week that lies ahead! I love date night with my husband and look forward to it each week because he truly is my best friend! My favorite part of the day is reading books to my kids before bed and ending it with scriptures and a story from The Friend. I have a tendancy to go go go all day long and this time forces me to slow down and enjoy my children's presence. I love my life!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I was baptized when I was 8 years old and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. This has been a very special gift for me and I have cherished it and used it since that day. When my parent's got divorced when I was 9 years old I knew that my Heavenly Father loved me and I could go to him with any concerns I had and I would feel comforted by that wonderful gift. As I have continued to face challenges in my life I have always known that my Heavenly Father loves me! I know that Jesus came to this earth and atoned for my sins and died and was resurrected so I too can someday live with my Heavenly Father again someday. I know that my marriage and family are eternal and that as long as I keep my covenants that I made at baptism I will continue to live with them forever. I am a Mormon because it is part of me. I would be lost without my beliefs.

How I live my faith

I live my Faith by following the promptings of the spirit. Sometimes it's just a simple hello or smile that I give someone but I know that if I listen to those promptings whether they be big or small I am doing what Heavenly Father wants me to do. I try to always think of other people in my ward and be aware of their needs and ways that I can serve them. I go to church each Sunday and work with the 8-11 year old Activity Day girls during the week. I support my husband in his calling as a bishop and I love the sweet peace that that brings into our home. I teach my children about the gospel and hope that they gain a testimony as strong as mine is someday.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Katie
Although the members of the church who serve as clergy are not paid with money they are paid is so many other ways such as blessings and peace in their homes. My husband is in the bishopric and the "wealth" that has come to us from this calling is worth so much more than money. Show more Show less
