Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. My parents had been members all of their lives. So going to church was normal to me - I didn't know any different. I guess when you're young, you rely on other's testimonies at first. But there came a time I had to gain a testimony for myself. As a young girl, it was sometimes hard to understand the scriptures. I remember a time when I was reading the Book of Mormon. I distinctly remember feeling like the words and principals were familiar to me. Like I already knew them. Not because I'd heard them at church before, but because they were familiar to my spirit. They fit into my heart. The spirit testified that the Book of Mormon was true, and I've never forgotten that. I've had many similar experiences where the spirit has confirmed to me that God has a plan for us - that He is aware us, knows us, and loves us. I have prayed and have had answers to my prayers. I am so grateful that I have a relationship with my creator. Having the knowledge of God's plan makes me a happier, confident person. And when I hit the many obstacles that life throws at me, I know where to go to for strength.

How I live my faith

I live faith by actively participating in the positions that my church leaders have called me to. I've had many opportunities to work with the youth of the church. I have helped plan activities and service projects that better their lives and others. I love being a mentor to them, as I watch them gain testimonies for themselves. But I find that I often learn from them. Now I am working with ladies my own age or older. I visit many sisters to see how they are doing. We also do service projects and activities that bring as all together. I always try to live my life in line with God's commandments. I try to show love and lift others whenever I can.
