Hi I'm Susan

I am a stay at home mom and love spending time with my husband and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sew and create new things or add to patterns. I love going to the gym in the morning and cooking and baking for the holidays. I am the mother of 10 wonderful children. I have been married to my husband for 23 years. I graduated with and Associate Degree in Custom Sewing and Design and a Bachelor Degree in Elementary Education. I taught grade school on the Navajo Reservation for 2 years after graduating. Our four oldest boys have attained the eagle scout rank, the in the Boy Scouts of America and I have been a scout leader for over 10 years now.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon since birth. I have felt a very special spirit/feeling when helping others and living the gospel of Jesus Christ. Despite the challenges of youth I always felt a need to go to church. I would never want to give up the blessing of being a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The feelings I have when I attend meetings, read the Book of Mormon and go to the church are something I cannot live without. There have been so many times that I have been struggling with something and how to take care of it and the answers have come to my heart through staying close to Heavenly Father and Jesus that it helps me know what to do with difficult decisions. When I have followed these promptings I have felt so much happiness knowing that I have a Heavenly Father who is always there to help me no matter how small the need is. There was a time that I had some friends who couldn't find my phone number, they had looked all day. Their son had just passed away. That morning I felt like I should visit and take them rolls. I made the rolls. Then later that day the thought came again strongly to take them rolls. I got in the car and took a bag of rolls and when I got there that was when they told me they had been looking for my phone number all day long. I know that Heavenly Father is aware of all of us and that we are here to follow Him so we can live with Him again. We are here to help each other also and when we do we are helping Him. I am thankful for the opportunities that I have had to help others and the feeling of joy after doing so and knowing it was what Heavenly Father wanted me to do.

How I live my faith

I have been on the committe as the advancement chairman in boy scout troops in our congregation for over 10 years now. It is very fulfilling seeing them achieve each rank advancement and knowing that by keeping accurate records it helps them to know what they need to do and not become frustrated by the requirements. I have three to four sisters that I visit on a monthly basis and also call other sisters to see who was able to go visit during the month and who may need help. I love the way that the church is organized so that everyone has someone watching over them and visiting them.
