Hi I'm Scott

I'm from Denver, Colorado. I'm a missionary in Sydney, Australia. I speak Mandarin Chinese. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

G'Day, mate. I'm Scott. Here's a little bit about me. I'm your typical nerd. I spend most of my time watching Discovery Health or the History Channel, reading fantacy novels(Wheel of Time Woot!) and playing video games (Mario games, Legend of Zelda and Metroid). OK not typical but still pretty nerdly. I was in choir through High School and even was in the a cappella group. I graduated in 2010 and then went to UVU for one semester. And I can speak Madarin pretty OK. I hope one day to become a Doctor, maybe MD or Psycologist.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church and have always been around it. True I had to have my own personal conviction through some oncoming doubts but for the most part it has always been apart of my life and always will. Don't get me wrong, I keep myself open minded to all peoples thought and beliefs and relate to many people on a lot of different things. In fact most of my friends are not Mormon. I believe in the truth that I have found and allow others the same opportunity. I have prayed and done all that the scriptures say to find out that the church is true. It is not something that just happens. I had to actually do the work and experiment to find out what was true and what I believe. Day by day as I read the Book of Mormon and other scriptures it always strikes me how they work together and how the Gospel is so simple. All things that God does are logical and spiritual. They just make sense. But I have found also that as the scriptures say God's ways are not our ways. This is true in how sometimes things in the Gospel don't seem to make logical sense but when you have patience and faith in God he will show you in time when the time is right for you. Sometimes we have to learn more to be able to understand God, not God has to do more for us to understand. It takes the sacrifice on our part to understand him. Which is the whole purpose of this life; to see if we will seek God or not. To see if we are one that would love to return to the presence of God.

How I live my faith

Right now I am a missionary in the Sydney Australia mission. i go out everyday to share the message with those who want to learn the truth. I was called Mandarin Chinese speaking and spend a lot of time amongst the Chinese college (uni) students here. My mission already had helped my faith grow substantially in just a few months, I can hardly imganine where it will bring me.
