Hi I'm Jared

I like to study history. I like to imagine the future. I have wonderful children and a remarkable wife. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a big family. My brothers and sister are very theatrical, musical, competitive and religious. I liked to study math, draw pictures of super heroes and watch sports when I was younger. I was really shy as a kid, but as I've gotten older I have learned to be more outgoing. When I was a teenager my family moved to Washington and my Dad was selling computers to a large aerospace company. I made a lot of friends from all walks of life in the northwest where my family moved. I decided to become a computer graphics artist and was accepted into college, but I took a detour to connecticut where I served a spanish speaking mission in CT and Rhode Island for a few years. I visited NY after my mission and saw the twin towers a few weeks before 9/11. I returned to the northwest for a short time and then moved to Utah to study animation at college. Halfway through college I was home for a summer and ran into my friend from high school and she and I started dating. A few months later we were married and I returned to Utah to finish my studies. After college I decided to return to the Northwest to apply for jobs in the computer gaming or film industry, but I found work with an aerospace company instead. That was a few years ago and I have worked as a computer systems architect since then. This job helps me provide for my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because there is just so many uncertainties in this life and it provides me with a solid foundation.

How I live my faith

I like to meet and get to know people as I volunteer and serve in my community. I've helped out the boy scouts and I have had great experiences helping people in need where I live in the northwest. There are so many experiences and friends I have made through serving others. I love to serve others and to see the transformation where people go from being discouraged and downtrodden to learning how to see the blessings in disguise. A kind smile can be contagious and so I like to help people learn or re-learn how to appreciate life, to smile and overcome their trials.
