Hi I'm Natalie

I am a mom of five, I love gardening, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a busy mom of five boys. For now almost all of my time is spent taking care of my kids' physical, mental, and emotional needs. Although it is very demanding, it is also very rewarding. I love to watch their potential grow and blossom as they learn new things like how to walk, or talk, or read. I love thinking of creative ways to teach them and fun activities to do together. It's wonderful to see their enthusiasm for life. In college I studied landscape management and I love to watch things grow. I love to grow a garden each year and harvest and preserve the food from it. I also love to read and cook.

Why I am a Mormon

The Savior said in John 7:17 "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself." I know the Book of Mormon is truly inspired scripture from God because I have tried to live its teachings and as I have done so I have found greater peace, joy, happiness, and direction in my life. It has helped me to come to know my Savior and feel of his love for me. I have felt the peace and healing power of the atonement of Jesus Christ in my life as I have faced my deepest moments of struggle and sadness. Through Him I have found strength to go forward each day with a sure hope for the future.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a part of my daily life from the prayers I say for guidance as a mother and my own daily study of the scriptures to family prayer and scripture study. God has heard and answered my prayers many, many times. My most important work each day is to seize the little moments I have with my kids to teach them to know and love their Savior Jesus Christ and how to live their lives so that we can all return together to live with our Heavenly Father.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Abortion is a very serious sin. Each person on this earth is a literal spirit child of god. We lived with him before we were born. He offered us this amazing chance to come to earth, to get a body, and to learn through our experiences so that we could return to live with him and become like him. Many of our spirit brothers and sisters are in heaven waiting for their opportunity to be born and to have the experiences and learning we are having here on earth. When someone chooses to abort a baby they are denying one of their spirit brothers or sisters these great blessings. That is why it is such a serious sin. There may be exceptions where an abortion could be necessary when the mother's health is in danger or in cases of rape or incest. But even in these circumstances a person is encouraged to counsel with their local congregation's leaders and seek spiritual guidance on what the best choice is under the circumstances.
