Hi I'm Bob

I'm a Dentist, a Colonel, "the Commander", a husband, a father, a grandfather and a golfer and....... I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have been a member of the church all my life. I grew up in shadows of the Provo Mountains and experienced what I thought was a very normal Mormon childhood. My parents were not active, nor were my two older brothers. I started playing golf on my own in 6th grade, and it became my passion and I have continued to play serious golf all my life. I worked in Idaho on a farm in high school to earn the money for my mission. Following graduation, I served a mission in the England East Mission. Following my mission, I married the love of my life and she and I have now been married for 36 years with 4 awesome children and currently 6 very cool grandchildren. I am a first generation collegiate from both maternal and paternal families. I went on to attend Dental School and joined the Army over 35 years ago. It has been an awesome experience to live all over the world such as Germany, Korea, Japan, Thailand, Kuwait and soon Italy for my most likely final assignment. Finally, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the central theme in my life. It has provided a foundation that has given me purpose and direction. I have had the privilege seeing many cultures in the world and have seen how some of those cultures are limiting and without eternal purpose. I have seen first hand how people’s lives have changed as they have been introduced to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and now have a sense of purpose and live a value centered life. I am grateful to know that I am a Child of God.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I have a testimony of its truthfulness. I am grateful to know that my Heavenly Father loves me and only wants the very best for me in this life and throughout eternity. It gives me great comfort when I am following my Heavenly Father and the Savior by trying to live so that I can return to live with them and my family someday. I am thankful for the knowledge of the eternal nature of families and that through the sealing power; I can live with my family beyond this mortal experience. It is amazing to me that when you take the time to analyze your life day to day, you can see just how much our life is influenced and sustained by a loving Father in Heaven. I seem to constantly looking to the heavens in gratitude No other knowledge gives me as much comfort as my testimony of the Savior and that of the divine nature of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith…? Well first of all I am grateful that I know that I have an understanding Father in Heaven. Life is sometimes hard, but when I am living as I should, it is actually a lot easier, happier and more fulfilling. The beauty of the Gospel is that we know that we will be judged by the intent in our heart and less on capability, so we just try to do the best we can while making a positive difference in the world. It is not necessarily important WHAT we are assigned to do but rather HOW we accomplish things of importance in our life. As we "Lift Where We Stand” in doing what we have been assigned, knowing that all assignments are important and necessary, we know that the work of the Lord will be accomplished. As an Army Commander, I have made this phrase my unit creed because it applies not only to the way I live my life in the church, but also in my professional life as well. I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet and that the Savior’s church was restored to the earth through him. I know that the Savior lives and that through his atoning sacrifice, we can be redeemed from our shortcomings and that we can live with him again. I know that families are forever and that we are led today by a living prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that he receives latter day revelation that is vital for us to achieve happiness in an extremely turbulent world. I am forever grateful for this testimony of the Savior and his church here on earth today.
