Hi I'm Kaycie

I was born and raised in Arizona, and I am currently serving a mission in the Idaho, Pocatello mission and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised a member of the church, and I know without a shadow of a doubt that this is the best most true and correct church on the earth. I love to swim, in fact I was a competitive all year round swimmer for about seven years, and it is still one of my favorite things to do to this day. I have always been a very involved person and I love to stay active. I just finished my first year of college, studying speech pathology and audiology. I am really excited about this profession but I have decided to put school on hold while I serve a mission for the church. I am currently serving the Lord in the Idaho Pocatello mission and I cant express how much I love it here!!!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I wish I had one straight answer for that, but I don't. There is much to this church that makes me want to be an active member of it. I was born and raised in this church, and though I have never known anything else, I don't want to. I know that because of this church my faith in my Heavenly Father, and his son, my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ has grown to a level I could have never reached on my own. I know that through this church my faith has been magnified, and that it has helped me to become my best version of myself. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet called of God, and that he receives revelation on our behalf. I know that because of the restoration of this church we can receive all the necessary ordinances that allow us to one day return to our Heavenly Father. I know without a doubt that this is Christ's restored church here on the earth, and that is why I am a Mormon. Without this church I do not know who I would be, and honestly I do not want to find out, this gospel helps me be my best self, and strengthens my relationships with my Father and Savior, so why would I ever want anything else?

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example. I grew up in a rather heavily populated Mormon area, and sometimes it was hard to stick out from the crowd by doing the right things, but if you did the wrong thing everyone noticed. When I moved away for school, though I was in the same state, it was a bit of a culture shock. I only went two hours north, but it might as well have been across the world. The people were so different, but that did not stop me from being the same old me. I continued to live the church standards and people would certainly notice. In fact I have had many occasions where people will come up to me ask why I am so different then everyone else around me, what is my secret. The truth is I have no secret, but simply a love for my Heavenly Father, and his son Jesus Christ, and a desire to make them proud of me. While teaching about the gospel, and serving others are important aspects of living your faith, I think the best way you can do it is by your example. You can tell others this is what you're supposed to do, but if you yourself don't follow those standards, why should they? When you truly live your faith you devote yourself in all aspects to being the best person you can be, and other people notice it. I try to be the best example I can be, so that way I am distinguishable from others, and they can see my faith through my actions.
