Hi I'm Jo Anne

I am a true Husker Fan. Family is everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town Nebraska where I was raised by good parents. I still live in a smaller town today. I have had many different experiences in my life. I am a huge Nebraska Husker Fan. Family is really important to me, and often me and the family will go to games together. I do a lot of reading, computer games, and enjoy the outside when it is not too cold outside. I worked for BSDC for years doing a variety of things. I am now retired and spend most of my time with grandkids and at home. My favorite season is fall. It is so pretty outside then. I am single and live with my daughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up with good parents who taught me well but we didn't attend church that often. Once I got older I was married to a catholic man, and for a while I considered myself catholic. However, once I took a trip out to Salt Lake City, where I saw the Temple there on the square. It was beautiful there, I really enjoyed the tour the sister missionaries gave us. There was also a program on Joseph Smith, a boy who was seeking answers from God. At the end of the program we were asked if we could put our contact information to have missionaries come by and teach me the doctrines of the Church. Back then, they didn't have a church in my home town, so we would commute to a bigger one where more members were. I mostly had senior couple missionaries teach me, and I really enjoyed having them over as we talked religion. The elderly couple that taught me were very funny and enjoyable. What really caught my attention was when they mentioned what the boy Joseph Smith had experience, that he indeed really did see God and Jesus Christ as an answer to his pray. That story interested me. At that point I knew I had to be baptized a member of this Church. I know the Book of Mormon to be true and I know that God has been with me this whole time as a member of this church. I first joined the church in the 80's.

How I live my faith

I worked with the women of the church to organize ourselves and make records. I worked with many sisters (women in the church) to help others grow in their testimonies of Christ as well. I still read the Book of Mormon and pray. I believe that God is always with me.
