Hi I'm Monique Matheus

I was born in Rio de Janeiro and after I was married I moved to São Paulo in Brazil. I have 23 years and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Before I had my family in church, only my grandmother and distant relatives. I really wanted my relatives to know how much I love the gospel. Today, after years, a cousin of mine was baptized and the other returned to the church and baptized his uncle and brother. This was a great achievement for me. I have a degree in accounting and married 23 years, with a handsome young man who served a full-time mission, I have spent the happiest moments of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandmother had known the church when my mother was a child, but began to work on Sunday and has not been in church. My mother was single mother so my grandmother raised me until age 15. My grandmother had set a goal, when I had the age of baptism (8 years) it would take me to church, and that's what happened. I do not have many friends in the ward, and had never asked if the church was true, but went every Sunday. When I was 15 years old live with my parents and I could choose, go or not go to church. I stopped going for a few Sundays, but I felt empty without my Sunday church. So went the next Sunday, I made friends very lively, treated me very Well remembered everything he heard ... What should I ask God if it was true. I asked God if indeed the temple I could join for all eternity, and when it asks from me, I felt a feeling so good, that burned my heart and gave me a full assurance. This feeling for each principle of the church and good friends, made me stand firm even alone, is not easy keeping all the commandments alone, but now married to a returned missionary and sealed in the temple, I see it all worth it . I know this is the true church on earth, know that God lives, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, I know that the marriage lasts forever only when performed in the temple.

How I live my faith

My husband and I work hard in the church, all positions are unpaid. I've been secretary of the organization of women of the church and now I am a teacher of the class of principles of the gospel is a class for those that know the church and baptized people who are less than one year. My husband works as a ward mission leader, he came to know people who are the church. Each woman is responsible for a visit once a month some women, is very good serve and help women, I once helped a sister who does not spotting very well and could not read the Book of Mormon then taught her to listen to the book of Mormon on dvd. I am very grateful to serve in the church, I learn a lot to be a better person, I'm sure when I'm in the service of my neighbor, I am only in the service of our God ..
