Hi I'm Roxanne

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I raised 5 sons, enjoy crafts, decorating, bike riding, dancing, great friends, giving service, and my favorite is spending time with my family. I married my high school sweetheart and am still madly in love with him. I have been given the disguised gift of Multiple Sclerosis which, though frustrating at times, has forced me to reach places that I may have otherwise taken for granted.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints brings me to a "place of peace" and surety ad-mist a world of much contention & confusion that surrounds us. It is forever engraven deep within my heart. It is my foundation and my strength. At times when I have find myself getting wrapped in the "worldly stuff", It always seems to bring me back to a sure knowledge of true value. I wish people understood that Mormons are just like everyone else in that we all have weaknesses, make mistakes, & have individual struggles. With the Gospel as a part of my life, these struggles only help to build my character, strengthen me, & give me hope when life's trials may otherwise appear hopeless. To me, the blessing of being a Mormon is knowing that we all have purpose, that Heavenly Father truly loves us and has set us up to succeed. I have a testimony that our Savior's path is the sure way to eternal happiness. No matter where we have been in the past, I know that through a loving Savior, we can move forward. Through him, all things are possible. The more life experiences, the more I have come to understand & appreciate how perfect his plan for our happiness & success is. He knows that we are going to struggle & be faced with trials & temptations. He knows we are going to make mistakes & for this he gave us a loving Savior to pave the way & help pay the debt we as humans incurred. I have watched many loved ones, myself included, get wrapped up in "worldly stuff" & inevitably, end up in a self destructive state, a very lonely and miserable place to be. I have seen that so much of the suffering that transpires in our lives is the natural consequence of disregarding God's commandments. His commandments truly help us avoid unnecessary damage and lead us to succeed in all that really matters.

How I live my faith

I wake up with a prayer and go to sleep with a prayer. I always seem to carry a prayer in my heart. I maintain a close relationship with my Heavenly Father. He is one that I can always count on. He is never too busy, too tired or too far away. I have such gratitude for the direction & inspiration Heavenly Father gives me as I continue scripture and prayer. As I feel gratitude in my life, it magnifies itself. The more I make Heavenly Father & His Gospel top priority, the more I see His hand in my life. When I do this; I find I have more love & less judgment, more patience & less confusion, more appreciation & less deficiency, more energy & less weakness, more confidence & less doubt, and all together more joy & less despair. When I am focused on following all God's commandments & living in conjunction with his teachings, is when I am happiest. It's as if this joy & sureness encompass my soul & penetrate deep within. The church has helped me to examine & approach life's trials differently. I am able to feel this sense of peace & have clearer direction through storms that would otherwise bring fear, havoc, & cause unnecessary damage to myself & my family. I understand that they have purpose in the molding and building of character. I am grateful for the Gospel and for being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I know my Heavenly Father has a plan for me to succeed. I know this is the sure way to eternal happiness. Christ is the rock of my life, my inspiration, and my salvation.
