Hi I'm Mira

I love music, I am athletic, I care about others, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior in high school, and have played volleyball and basketball, and swim. I love music :). I play guitar and piano, and I sing for EVMCO. I have strawberry blonde hair, and freckles :D. I plan on working while going to college for a year and working before i leave for my mission. I love my Psychology class and the Human Biology class I took last year. I would love to enter into the medical field as a Physician's Assistant, but I am still exploring my options ;). I have been looking for a job for two months so I can earn money for college, and my mission. I have not been able to find one that allows me to have Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays to myself with the other activities i have going on. Because of this, I have picked up a little on babysitting. I care about other's feelings, and being the best friend I can be to anyone who needs me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have found out for myself that this denomination is true in every form and aspect. I have studied the scriptures, and prayed to eventually come to the realization of the Mormon gospel's legitimacy. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins, and everyone else's. I know that Joseph Smith is the one who restored this church. When I pray, read my scriptures, and attend any Mormon church setting, I feel my Savior's love.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading my scriptures every day. I pray whenever I feel is necessary, always more than twice. I was the Mia Maid president (group of girls 14 to 16 years of age) for about a year, and was a secretary for the Laurels (group of girls 16 to 18 years of age). I join my dad some Saturdays in The Lions Club, and do service for others such as my sister who needed help around the house when she was pregnant and her husband was going to college and having a full time job. I am soon to start helping my school tutor students after school, and have been trying to figure out a way to volunteer at the nearest hospital.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I see my God wherever, whenever, whether or not I look. I know he exists, When I do something great for someone, I get this feeling, a good feeling, that explains to me how what I just did made someone other than the other person and myself happy. God has miracles waiting for me that I can sometimes miss if I'm not paying attention. Sometimes those miracles come through the people around me, sometimes they are things around me. I have two older sisters, one six years, the other eight, who, had been praying for months for a little sister, when my mother announced her pregnancy with me. A couple summers ago my mother was visiting a different state, after dropping me off at a summer camp, to help her step sister with shoulder recuperation, after multiple unsuccessful shoulder surgeries. My mother had severe pain in her shoulder she had never experienced before. She went to the hospital after visiting a doctor who did not help, and they ran some tests but found she needed surgery. They asked her if this would be okay with her. My mother got this overwhelming feeling and she said that yes, she would have the surgery. The doctor afterwards explained that she had bacteria in her shoulder which had gone septic. Had she said, "no," to the surgery, the bacteria would have spread to her heart and she would have died if she had gone back home like the previous doctor had suggested. That overwhelming feeling was God helping my mothe as well as all the other lives she has ever touched. Show more Show less
