Hi I'm Jessie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary in the MTC getting ready to head out into the Argentina Buenos Aires North Spanish speaking mission. I have always loved to read and to learn about everything. I practically lived at the library and knew all my letters by the time I was three. I would love to be a zoologist and a teacher at the same time. I enjoy puzzles, games, and arts and crafts. Writing is one of my many hobbies as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a long line of members and have a wonderful pioneer heritage on both sides of my family. Even with that amazing heritage, I needed to learn that the gospel was true for myself. I naturally meditate upon many things, so the church was often one of those subjects. When I was twelve years old we had a youth activity centered around Joseph Smith and the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I had come to the conclusion, by then, that I needed to have my own testimony and not rely on my parents. Because I knew the subject of the youth activity, I had read and pondered and prayed about the Restoration. It took two weeks and in the middle of the activity I felt the quiet confirmation of everything I had studied out in my mind. It was not a big event nor an easy process, but I knew that I had gotten the testimony I had worked so hard for.

How I live my faith

Before my mission, I tried to be very active in the activities of the church, but because of work I did not get to go to many of the ones during the week. Everyone tried to include me, though, and I never missed a sunday. It's really more than going to activities or having a checklist. I try my best to live the standards of the church and try to follow Christ's example in my every day life. I know that may seem too general but my coworkers would see a difference in how I treated people and how happy I was. They saw the support I received from my fellow members and my family. One of my favorite tasks at church was teaching the young children songs. Their energy and their love was the highlight of my week and to help them feel the Savior's love for them was the best thing I could have done.
