Hi I'm Jodi

I'm a wife and mother of two sons. My joy in life comes from knowing I am a child of God. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Virginia. I was home schooled up until I left for college. I loved every minute of being at home and learning at the feet of my mother! I finished my Bashelors degree in Speech Therapy, and the very next year traveled to China to teach English for a semester. What a life skills building experience! A year later I met my wonderful husband and best friend. We were married in the Temple and soon thereafter had our first son. Since that time we have added another little boy! What a fun filled adventure raising boys!! My favorite part of raising sons is watching the joy they experience being outside, soaking up the world and all the beauty it has to offer. Reading and singing songs with them and watching their expressions of joy. This is what I live for!

Why I am a Mormon

I vividly remember a time when, after leaving a church meeting at the age of five, I exclaimed to my mom, " I have hearts coming out of me!" I can't remember a time when I did not know that there was a loving Heavenly Father that was watching over me. I was taught the gospel at a young age and I readily held on to every word. In essence, I can't imagine my life without the knowledge I have gained being a member of the Church. It has blessed my life most importantly through answered prayers. A special experience that happened to me occurred when I was around six years old. My brother Justin came in from playing outside and he was crying. I asked him what was wrong. He wiped the tears from his eyes as he exclaimed the he lost his little motorcycle outside in our backyard. Now, as I looked outside the back door at the 9 huge piles of leaves I became discouraged. But then my mind remembered.... That I could pray. As Justin since went back to mom to relay his troubles, I walked outside and said a silent prayer that I could find Justin's motorcycle for him. After about a minute, I had the feeling to not even look at all the leaves in the backyard, but to look in the pile near the basketball hoop. As my little fingers ruffled against the leaves, I was able to find, there in that particular pile, what I was looking for. I was so ecstatic! I said a silent thank you prayer and then rushed in the house to share the good news! This was the beginning of my testimony. For I knew that God loved me enough to answer my prayers, no matter how little I was, how obscure and insignificant I felt. He knew and loved me. That is sufficient.

How I live my faith

Attending church meetings has been a part of my life since I was little. I love making time to think about Heavenly Father and to learn of his teachings. Currently I serve in the nursery teaching the 18 months -3 year old children. I love little children. I also visit three sisters in my ward family monthly to teach them how to live more fully the gospel of Jesus Christ.
