Hi I'm Ken Tenny

I am a retired insurance adjuster with 7 children. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 7 children, the oldest is 39 & the youngest is 19. I have 5 boys & 2 girls. I have been involved in coaching youth sports, basketball & baseball. I was, also involved in scouts, being cub master 3 years & scout master 3 years. I was school board director for 4 years and in charge of several successful school bond & levy campaigns. Basketball is my first love & at age 64 I am still trying to play the game.

Why I am a Mormon

I started attending the Mormon Church at age 17, so I could play on their basketball team. I was immediately impressed with warm reception I received from the local members. As I continued to attend Church, I became more & more impressed with the youth. They truly believed their religion & were trying very hard to live the high standards the Church taught. While at a Church sponsored dance a young lady told me how much the Church meant to her. She said " It is not just a religion, but a way of life." This touched my heart, and as I prayed that night I knew I needed to find out more about this religion as I wanted to feel the same way about my faith. I took the missionary discussions & 3 months later was baptized. I have been active in the Church ever since.

How I live my faith

One year after baptism, I went on a full time mission for the Church to Chile, South America. This was a very challenging time, but by far the most rewarding two tears of my life. Since then I have spent several years working with the teenagers of the Church. Currently I am in leadership with the High Priests, who are generally older men. I have thoroughly enjoyed my activity in the Church over the years.
