Hi I'm Allie

The purpose of life is a life of purpose. ~Robert Byrne

About Me

I'm a senior at Keene State College studying Exercise Physiology. When I graduate in may i plan on attending Massage Therapy school for a year and then attending Graduate School to obtain my Master's in the Health Science field. I'm an athlete and an artist: I love to play all sports (soccer, lacrosse, badminton, softball, ultimate frisbee, basketball etc.) but particularly enjoy Cross Country and Track events. I also love to be outdoors: hiking, biking, swimming, canoeing/kayaking, camping, you name it, roughing it runs in my family :) On the artistic side, I love to paint and sketch, and dabble in writing poetry (which is probably rather terrible, hence why it stays in a journal no one will ever read). I also love to sing, and play piano and guitar. I'm also a nerd. I love to play Scrabble and other word games, and in general I like to be silly :) I adore animals - typically I'm a dog person but I recently adopted a 4 month old kitten named Miura, and she is my cuddle buddy!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because the most wonderful people I know introduced me to this faith, and the light of Christ that they exuded inspired me to become a part of our Heavenly Father's eternal family. After I had my first missionary lesson, I read the Book of Mormon in a week. It was by far the strongest spiritual experience I had ever felt at that point in my life: I felt I needed little other reasoning to set my baptismal date! I am so grateful for the gospel and the happiness it has brought into my life. That's why I'm a Mormon :)

How I live my faith

I live my faith by taking an active role in teaching the Young Women of my ward and also helping to lead the Young Single Adults. I enjoy working on personal progress assignments alongside the Young Women, they are such an inspiring group of beautiful girls. The Young Single Adults in my ward are a tight-knit bunch, considering there are only 8 of us, and they are a breath of fresh air when surrounded by the raucous lifestyle of a college town. I also enjoy spending time with the families of young children in our ward: I'm a sucker for kids, I would pay people to let me babysit! It is such a joy to see young ones living the Gospel of Christ :)
