Hi I'm Kari

I have the most awesome family, I'm a long-boarder, a buffalo-wing eater, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised right in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I'm currently serving a mission in the Missouri and lovin' every single second of it. I'm the third of six kids, and the first out of my siblings to serve a mission. I have the greatest family in the world; my Mom and Dad are the best. I have the neatest siblings, 3 brothers and 2 sisters with the youngest having Down Syndrome. And trust me, he IS the coolest kid in the world! Before my mission I was studying Pre-med, and hoping to go into Pediatrics. I love to: long-board, surf, snowboard, spend time with my family and friends, drive in convertibles, I'm a big fan of buffalo wings, I love to play the piano and guitar, study, learn more about my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I absolutely love days when the sun is out. Life is the best!

Why I am a Mormon

Because the Plan of Salvation is real and it has changed my life! I am a Mormon because I choose to be and I have come to know the truth for myself. I have come to appreciate the challenges that come our way and I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that trials are for our experience and for our good. I was raised in the church but it wasn't until I learned about the glorious truths of God's plan for us that it really hit home for me. I was about 9 years old when I experienced a death in the family and it hit me hard. Up till then I believed that death was the end and that it entailed darkness and no oxygen. But the comforting words from my Dad said, "Don't worry, you'll see her again" sunk deep into my soul. I then desired to search deeper into the truth of life after death. I wanted to know with all my heart that my Dad was right. And I did. I have come to learn by the Spirit that everything I've learned and experienced in the Gospel throughout my life is true. I know that life is hard, not the Gospel.

How I live my faith

I am serving a mission right now in the Missouri Independence Mission, and I'm loving every second of it! Sacrificing 18 months of my life to the Lord is nothing in comparison to the blessings that we receive in return. It ends up being no sacrifice at all. I've realized that the way to be truly happy is to live the gospel of Jesus Christ in all aspects of our lives; by communicating with our Heavenly Father often, by daily scripture study, attending church weekly, serving others, and following the righteous promptings that we receive. Just live the Gospel & choose to have an awesome attitude and you'll be happy! :)

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Kari
No it's not required, but when the Lord asks you to serve, you do it! But seriously, why wouldn't you want to serve? It's what Jesus Christ taught and He was the greatest missionary to ever live! And we're always striving to become just like Him, and the way we do that is to do what He did. There's honestly nothing else that brings more joy than inviting people to follow Jesus Christ and to see them do it :) Show more Show less
