Hi I'm Michael

I have lived in Colorado all my life and love the outdoors. I have raised 7 kids and currently have 19 grandkids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am very diverse in my interests. I like to write essays, and I have been honored to have one of my works published by NPR radio in the "This I Believe" project. I love woodworking, auto repair, model radio controlled boat building, camping, and the list goes on and on. I love spending time with my family which includes my wife of 31 years, 7 kids and 19 grandkids. I have severe hearing loss, but I have been able to learn sign language to help in situations where I am not able to hear or undestand what is going on around me. I have recently gone back to school to enhance my knowledge of computers and networks and have enjoyed the challenge.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother joined the church when I was 10 years old, and along with my 2 other sisters we were also baptized. I was always rebellious and resisted most attempts to follow the teachings of the church. I continued this until I was in my mid 30s. At that time I had been doing some self reflection and realized that in all that I truely believed, those beliefs were the same as what was being taught in church about the gospel. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church and that the Book of Mormon is true, and is another testament of Jesus Christ. We are blessed to have a prophet here on this earth today that receives direction from our Heavenly Father. I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

While I am not perfect, I try to be the best representative of my savior and my beliefs. I have been involved in Boys Scouts, and have a deep love for our youth. I am a home teacher and have the priviledge of gong out to vist with those that I have commited to being ready to perform service for when called upon. I will on occassion work at the local soup kitchen, and have enjoyed participating in the building of a home for Habitat for Humanity. I always hope that I may reflect my faith in my actions and through those actions I will be able to plant seeds in others that will draw them to the true gospel and the true church.
