Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in Utah, went to college in Idaho, served a mission for the church in Mexico, and currently work in Utah. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of 4 children with a 5th on the way. I love playing sports, but my favorite are ultimate frisbee, basketball, and football. I went to school and graduated in computer science and am currently working in that field. I love what I do for my career.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because of the knowledge that I have received about the principles of the gospel. I love knowing that I can be with my family even after death, forever. It is wonderful to know that we have a living prophet to guide us in these days. It is scary at times to see things that go on in the world and know that my children are growing up in these times. But I am grateful that I have the opportunity to teach them how to avoid the many temptations that will come to them. Most of all, I choose to be a Mormon because it is how I feel it is best to follow my Savior, Jesus Christ. I am extremely grateful for Him and His atoning sacrifice that allows every person to repent and improve their life. I know that He loves me and wants me to follow Him. I have felt His love many times in my life, and know everyone can feel of that love if they will turn to Him and follow Him.

How I live my faith

I have been serving as a counselor in the bishopric for a little over 2 years. I have come to understand the importance of the ward family. People helping others is truly a way that Heavenly Father answers prayers. I enjoy so much working with the youth of the church. They have so much strength and it is very rewarding to see them accomplish goals and work together.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No, we are instructed to help our neighbors. As Jesus taught with the parable of the Good Samaritan, everyone is our neighbor. We should try to be friendly and helpful to everyone around us, regardless of religious affiliation, race. We look for opportunities to serve and lift up those who need help or comfort. We never know when we might be the instrument in God's hands to answer that person's prayer. Show more Show less

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The gift of the Holy Ghost is available to all those who are baptized after the manner of Jesus Christ. We are taught in 2 Nephi 32:5 that the Holy Ghost can show us "all things" that we are to do. That is an amazing gift. Heavenly Father loves his children so much that He wants to help them return to live with him. He gives the gift of the Holy Ghost to help us in this quest.
