Hi I'm Kalob

I grew up in Arizona. I love rugby, soccer, and anything outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a smaller farming town. There I learned to love all things outdoors and many sports. I was on the swimming, soccer and volleyball teams in high school. Soon after graduation and before my mission to Brazil I started to play rugby and couldn't get enough of it. Then I went on to serve a 2 year mission for the church, which was something that I would not trade the world for. Soon after my mission I started to go to college and married my best friends little sister!!! We have a great relationship and I learn tons from her. Currently I do not know what I want to study but am loving college.

Why I am a Mormon

So, I have been a member of the church my whole life. My mom is strong in the church and made sure that my siblings and I always went. To tell the truth I kind of just went with the whole Mormon thing because that was all that I knew and what my parents were telling me all growing up. Most of my friends were also members of the church and that helped me to be more excited to call myself a member of the church. It was not honestly until I was out on my mission that it really hit me. . . . I had to know for myself. I thought it was true, but didn't feel like really had the necessary level of conversion to be out there trying to convert others. So I did all I could to find out. Through LOTS of prayer, scripture study, and fasting I came to know for myself that it was all true. Honestly it was never a question for me of whether or not the church was true. I knew that if God existed the church was true, it was just so perfect and had answers for everything. It taught about the God that I figured God had to be. But that was the question that stumped me for a while, whether or not God really existed. Today I can tell you with surety that I know he does. Nothing in or out of this world will ever be able to change my mind about that.

How I live my faith

I currently teach Portuguese at the missionary training center which is a place that missionaries from our church go at the beginning of their 2 year missions to learn how to be missionaries. I teach the missionaries that are going to Brazil not only how to speak Portuguese, but also how to teach people the gospel of Jesus Christ. I love my work there and it is great to see the missionaries learn and grow.
