Hi I'm Brenda

I'm a Mormon. I was born in Utah, but have lived most of my life in sunny California.

About Me

I am the oldest of nine children.I am now a Mother of two adults and have been a member of the Church all of my life. My husband and I were married 14 years when he made the decision to join the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints. A year later and we were able to have our family sealed in the Temple for all of Eternity, it was the most wonderful time for our family. Seven years later we were sending our son on his mission, another wonderful memory. Sadly as our son had been on his mission for six months, my husband was diagnosed with bladder cancer, that was in Feb.2003, he passed away May 2003.Our son was called home and he decided to stay home and take care of his "girls" Even though this was a very sad time, we were blessed as a family to know we would be together again. Since that time, our Son has married a beautiful young woman and our daughter has grown into a very smart and lovely young woman. To say the least, I am a very blessed and love woman. To have the knowledge that we can be together forever, puts all of our trials into perspective. I love Jesus Christ and know that we are each known and loved by Him and a loving Heavenly Father. What a joy to know who we are and where we are going. I am grateful to have my family. I enjoy making beautiful things and have been blessed with many talents. I thank all of those that have gone before me, because of their sacrifices and love, my life has been very full. I hope to share it with many.

Why I am a Mormon

I would like to bare my testimony of my belief in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that a young boy was confused by which church to join and after reading the bible asked our Father in Heaven which Church to go to. He was told none, and he was able to be an instrument in bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ back in it's fullness to the earth. To have the Book of Mormon, a second witness for Christ is a great gift. Many have given their lives to preserve this record for us to learn of the people on this continent, and have their witness of Jesus the Christ after His Death on the cross to His Resurrection. To think of all that Christ has done for us, that we might have the opportunity to be with those we love for all eternity, and live with our Father, to know who we are and what this life is for.To know that every person on this earth is a child of God and is entitled to His blessings and love. Makes me look at others with more compassion. Christ said "Come Follow Me." It is an open invitation to all.

How I live my faith

I have been active always in the Church. I have served in many callings I have been asked to fulfill. Even when I have been called to jobs I didn't think I could do. But with the love and support of all those I have worked with I was able to do as I was required. It is up to each of us to work together and do the best we can to have our Wards and Stakes survive and to grow. We are all asked to serve each other and in that, we are serving our Father in Heaven. We are all "enlisted" to help each other and support those trying to led us where we should be. I have been asked to join a Singles Ward and I am finding so many that have similar life challenges that I do, I fit right in. I feel if they can be cheerful and move forward, so can I. We lift and support and love each other. I love to sing and have been able to share my talents with the choirs, and have learned so many things, most of all, I am a Child of God and I want to live with Him someday. By serving each other we show our love to our Father. I am thankful for the chance to serve others, it takes your focus off of yourself and lets you see how you can lift another.
