Hi I'm Mike

I am a native of Washington state. I am married and have four grown children. I am a retired cost analyst. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the church. I had a turbulent childhood and my greatest wish was to have a complete family. I met my eternal companion after many discouraging relationships in the first thirty-two years of my life. I knew there had to be another way to get through life. I am now sixty-five and retired. My wife and I have raised four children. The most important part of life is to be a part of a family. There is no greater joy in life. People can accomplish much more in this life if they have a life partner to help plan and execute. Sure, we have made mistakes with our children and have regrets. We have the rest of our lives to try to teach correct principles to our children, grand children and perhaps, great grand children. We must endure to the end of our mortal lives. We have hope for the next phase after this life is concluded. I have grown to know truth when I hear it.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe that a kindly Heavenly Father still communicates with his children through communication with living prophets and to me personally as I am worthy to receive it. I believe that Jesus Christ guides this church and is the true head of it. I believe in service to my fellow men. I believe families are eternal. I believe in getting acquainted with ancestors through family history and temple work. I believe that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are one in my hand with the Book of Mormon being a second testament of Jesus Christ. The leadership of this church is the most trustworthy of any group of people I have ever known. Their dedication to the gospel is life affirming. The leaders dedicate their entire lives in service. What better pattern could a person adhere to?

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday to gain knowledge and to commune with my fellow saints. I go to church to renew my covenants with my Heavenly Father through the partaking of the sacrament. I give service and strive to be ready to serve at a moment's notice. I pray for guidance. I read the scriptures. I serve my family. I try to get to the truth of all things. I try to not be swayed by radical beliefs and do not associate with radical organizations. I support my fellow saints with tithes and offerings.
