Hi I'm Debbie
I live in California and I'm a Mormon.
I am a wife, mother and grandmother. My husband is my best friend, and I have enjoyed traveling to many different countries throughout the world. Seeing different cultures and learning how they live has enriched my life. My four children are my priceless gems and my grandchildren are one of the greatest joys of my life. I love taking pictures. I think nobody could have to many pictures. My pictures are the history of my life, the legacy of wonderful memories and how life has unfolded for me. My best day is being with people I love, my family. I love to ski, swim, and bike. I love children and enjoy teaching.
Why I am a Mormon
Because I love the Savior and want to following His plan for happiness in this life and the life to come. I grew up in a Mormon family but I will always remember the time when I was a young girl of around 9 years old sitting next to my mother in church. It was a time when people shared how they believed. I whispered to my mother that I to wanted the share how I believed. I recognized truth from a very young age, through songs that I sang like, "I am a child of God, Called to Serve, Pioneer Children, Jesus Once was a Little Child, The Chapel Doors, Tell Me the Stories of Jesus, and Book of Mormon Stories" and stories found in the scriptures about prophets and people who followed the Saviors teachings. I have had a great love for my Savior since I was young and wanted to learn to be like him. Being a mormon has given me a pathway that I can follow. It is like a roadmap with simple instructions. The end result is happiness and that is what life is all about, eternal happiness.
How I live my faith
I try to show by my example that I am a follower of Christ. I love to serve others. In my church I have the opportunity to work with the children. I teach through songs , stories from the scriptures, and talks given by modern day prophets and apostles about the Saviors gospel. I also have worked in the public education system for over 9 years. While teaching I have taught the students I worked with the importance of being honest and having clean language and living your life with values and purpose. Through my appearance of modest dress and clean language, and living life with moral values I was able to be an example of how you could live life. I would share with them a pictures of my best friend, my husband ,and tell them that we had been married for over 25 years. With wide eyes they would say, "Wow, that's a long time" and I would respond, "Yes, and it is wonderful" I feel the best way to show your faith is the day today life that you live, Be honest, dress modestly, be kind, be willing to listen and then give service. In other words do what the Savior would do if he were here on the earth today.
