Hi I'm Nicole =)

I'm born and raised Californian. I don't like being sick, and my first love is music! oh yeah, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full-time learner! I'm just a girl trying to find my way through life the best way I can. I love being active and playing/coaching sports of all kinds. In high school it was 4 years varsity water polo and swimming, and now that i'm out, I still love the water, but volleyball has taken first priority now. I play competitively with the city and for fun during the week. I mentioned that I love music, and I DO! I've played the piano for 11 years and love writing my own music. I love visiting the city, and the live music there makes me smile instantly. I listen to all kinds of music and I confess, i do sing in the shower, but very poorly! I am very interested in travel, even though I haven't done much of it yet. I hope to be able to someday, the world has tons of beautiful places that I want to see.

Why I am a Mormon

There are simple truths that I believe, and those that I try to live my life by. All of which, I realized are not just covered in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, but they are emphasized and encouraged. One of those, very dear to me, is that of the importance of the family unit. I LOVE my family, and the support they are to me. The knowledge of the restored gospel teaches that if we work towards it, we have the opportunity to be together with our family and loved ones forever. What's better than that!? Secondly, the organization of the church itself, is meant to strengthen and develop us as individuals and as a group, to draw closer to our Savior and to become like Him not just someday, but everyday! The world can be a dangerous and dark place, but if we keep friends and family close, they can be a light in the darkness to lead us to brighter days. I am constantly learning and striving to improve myself, and in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that will never end! I LOVE THAT. I also, and most of all, love the fact that I know that God loves me. With the help of the teaching of the church, I remember that when I'm having a rough day. Or when I've messed up and I'm feeling terrible about it; God loves me, and wants me to be happy and live the best life possible. Who doesn't want to keep someone like that close to them, to help lift them up on their bad days and push them higher on the good ones?

How I live my faith

In my church, I am able to use my talents and develop them! I have played for the church choir for almost 10 years, and recently I was asked to teach a bible study class called Gospel Doctrine. I have loved the opportunity to study further and deeper into the scriptures and learn from the great people who came before me. I have also been able to reach out and meet many of the members of our local community through our service efforts, feeding the homeless, or even just fun activities like barbecues and sporting events. It's nice to have people come together even of different faiths to serve our fellow men.
