Hi I'm Jeanne

I am a happily married mother of four. I teach part-time at a university. I enjoy reading, writing, and family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to learn, and that has led to my love of teaching--both in my family and on the university level. I enjoy researching and writing, but my favorite writing is personal. I have published a few stories, poems, and song texts. My greatest joy is my family. I also find great satisfaction in service of many kinds.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Mormon, so I began my life accepting the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ because that was what I had been taught by good parents. But as I grew older, I needed to know for myself if the things I had been taught were true. I studied the scriptures for myself, and I prayed diligently and sincerely. Through a period of seriously ill health as a youth that caused me to question whether or not I really mattered to God, I came to know for myself that God does exist, that He is aware of me, that He loves me, and that He is involved in my life. I knew that because He communicated His love to me in a manner so real that I could not deny it. This was the beginning of my own testimony, independent of anyone else. As I grew older, I continued praying and studying, and I had many more experiences of receiving answers to my prayers, of receiving knowledge and guidance through the Spirit, and of having the truthfulness of the doctrines of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints confirmed in my life. I am a Mormon because I have put the Savior's words to the test: "If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine." I have lived the doctrines, and every experience of my life confirms that they are true. I am a Mormon because I love the Savior Jesus Christ with all my heart and wish to show that love and my gratitude for His Atonement by living as He has asked me to live.

How I live my faith

I have served in the Church as a teacher of children, youth, and adults. I have also served in leadership positions in various Church organizations. But my favorite service is in trying to follow the Savior's example of serving one-on-one by being a good listener and friend. I think of each person around me as a beloved son or daughter of Heavenly Father and try to treat them as He would have me treat His child. My husband and I are grateful to be able to contribute financially to the Church to help with its worldwide humanitarian and education efforts. Through the Church, we are able to accomplish so much more in these humanitarian efforts than we possibly could do on our own. I also serve in the community by volunteering my time at local schools and assisting community humanitarian programs both financially and with my time.
