Hi I'm Crystal

I am a teacher. I love to bake, read, play the piano, and be with my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah as the youngest of eight children. I began playing the piano at the age of seven and have loved it ever since. I earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University, and a master's degree from Liberty University in Special Education. I married my wonderful husband in 2009 and began teaching the following year. We love spending time together cooking in the kitchen, playing tennis, watching movies, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I had the opportunity to watch members of my family live their faith as members of the church. I learned from them the joy that comes from keeping the commandments and relying on the atonement of Jesus Christ and His gospel. As I got older I continued to study the scriptures for myself reading both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and praying to know if the things I read were true. The Holy Spirit whispered to my heart and mind that they are. As I continue to study, live the commandments, and pray to Heavenly Father, feelings of peace and joy assure me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the Savior's restored gospel led by him through prophets, that the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God, that Heavenly Father loves his children and continues to guide them in our day, and that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind including me. I know that through His atonement and the authority available in His restored church I can be with my family eternally with God. I know this for myself and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have had many opportunities to participate in my local congregation, all of which have blessed my life greatly. I currently select and conduct music for worship service as well as lead the choir. Previously I have been able to teach classes to the children and to preside over a branch of the women's organization in the church. While the church provides opportunities for all of us to share our talents and grow, I also try to live my faith daily by living the standards of the church, loving the children with special needs that I work with, and strengthening my family.
