Hi I'm Cameryn Leigh Smith

I ride the unicycle, run half and full marathons, and studying advertising. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to try new things. I play many sports including: soccer, tennis, and running. I like summer and winter activities. Boating, camping, hiking, wakeboarding, to skiing, snow shoeing, snow ball fights, sledding. I am studying advertising at Brigham Young University. Looking for a job in the spring. Pretty exciting! I got married on June 11, 2011 to my wonderful hot husband who I love so much. We moved to Austin TX shortly after getting married and have started our new adventures here! I love traveling and if I could I would travel the world and meet all kinds of different people. I love studying history and reading about it. Just love reading in general. Some things I like to do for fun is running, doing crafts, reading, playing the piano, going to movies, and anything that is active.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up mormon for one thing but that is not why I am mormon. I have a testimony of this gospel and I know it is true. I have prayed about it and have felt the sweet spirit it brings to me. I pray on my knees and thank my Heavenly Father for all my wonderful blessing each day. We have so much to be thankful for. He knows me personally. I know that there is life beyond this life and I can one day return and live with my Heavenly Father. I am so happy I can be sealed to my husband for time and all eternity. It is truly one of the best gifts I have. I know Jesus Christ atoned for my sins. That I will forever be in his debt. He is my brother, my savior, my redeemer, my best friend. He loves me on a state I can not comprehend. I feel his love everyday when I read the scriptures. I know Joseph Smith translated the book of mormon and restored the gospel to the Earth today. He had tremendous faith through all the tribulation he went through. We have a prophet on the earth today by the name of President Thomas S. Monson. I know he receives revelation from God and speaks through him. I sustain him and his apostles who are ahead of the church and give us direction in our life. I am thankful for temples for it is a place of refuge. I am grateful to have the opportunity to do all the different things in the temple. I know that God dwells there and it is a place of beauty and solace. I know this gospel to be true. If you feel the spirit right now you too can be just as happy with the true gospel in your life. Find peace through reading the Book of Mormon. It will change your life forever. This I leave you with my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my life through faith like many of you do. I pray morning and evening, read my scriptures, have family home evening, active in my church calling, and go to church every sunday. My life revolves around the gospel. That is the way I want it to be. I feel so much more meaning when I serve my fellow men and seek out to help those in need. It is why I live and what makes me the most happy. I love to share my testimony with others and teach them of the gospel. My church calling is currently ward missionary. I have never been a missionary, let alone sat in on a missionary discussion. Now that I have I feel like I can relate to converts on a more personal basis since I am with them through the whole process. I support them through the understanding of it all. I am still learning of this gospel and I know I will not have a perfect knowledge until I die. Then everything will make sense. Since we went through the vail we have to be tried and tested. That is our free agency to decide if we accept the gospel in our life. I hope we all do. It is the best thing I have and I would never want to lose it.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Cameryn Leigh Smith
Mormons believe, revere and love the Holy Bible. We see it as a powerful, important, and sacred holy record which serves as the bedrock of all Christianity. The Bible is rich in history, doctrine, stories, sermons and testimonies, all of which witness that Jesus Christ is the Divine Son of our Heavenly Father. The Bible is the word of God and came from the writings of holy men of God as they were moved upon by the Holy Ghost (see 2 Peter 1:20-21). Through the same process we have additional Holy Scripture, including the Book of Mormon, which supports and exalts the Bible. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Cameryn Leigh Smith
One of the greatest reasons for being here on earth is to "have joy" (2 Nephi 2:25). Personal prayer, scripture study, and attending church helps us better understand that the best way to find joy and happiness in this life is to know about Our Heavenly Father's plan of happiness, the gospel of Jesus Christ, and to strive to keep God's "law" (Proverbs 29:18). Families are an essential part of God's Plan and much of how we live focuses on our families. We want to share the happiness we enjoy with everyone we can through service, missionary work, and contributing to society. Show more Show less

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Cameryn Leigh Smith
As you study the scriptures, you will grow closer to God and be better able to live righteously. Scripture study will bring you more joy, hope, and understanding of God’s plan and your place in that plan it. Jesus Christ invites you to “feast” upon His words (The Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 32:3). This means more than casually reading the scriptures. It means to study them, ponder them, compare verses, learn passages by heart, treasure them, delight in them. As you feast upon the scriptures, prayerfully asking God for understanding, the Holy Ghost will let you know they are true (see Book of Mormon, Moroni 10:4,5). You will grow closer to God. Your faith in and love for Jesus Christ will increase. So will your desire to do good and to be like Him. Show more Show less
