Hi I'm Rachel

I was born and raised in Utah. I am a wife, mother, and homemaker. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

For me variety is the spice of life! I studied Political Science in college and did graduate work in Interior Design. While I am mainly a stay at home mom, I enjoy doing some interior design as an outlet and remain involved in the non-profit sector of political science. I am a classically trained pianist and have been teaching piano students since 2004. I love to read and enjoy a wide range of literature from Jane Austen novels to David McCullough histories, to business leadership and self improvement books. I stay active by playing tennis, golfing, running, pilates, and a little ballet. I love to cook and experiment in the kitchen. At the end of the day there's nothing I enjoy quite as much as good food and good company.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and was taught the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout my childhood. In my teenage years when I was old enough to think for myself, I found my own testimony of Jesus Christ and decided to be committed to living my life according to Christ's teachings. Now as an adult I can look back on my life and see the tremendous blessings that God has bestowed upon me. I am happiest when my life is in sync with God's plan for me. I receive great comfort from the knowledge that families are eternal. My father passed away at the age of 56 from brain cancer. The Gospel of Jesus Christ continues to comfort and give hope to me and my family as we know we will be reunited with my dad again. Now that I have a family of my own, I am grateful for the knowledge that my marriage can be eternal. My approach and commitment to my marriage is totally different with that perspective. I am a better wife and mother knowing I am creating family relationships that will last forever. I consider the Book of Mormon and the Bible to be the best marriage, parenting, and life manuals. I am a Mormon because I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is taught in its fulness in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to live my life after the pattern of the Savior. I try to be a good friend and continually seek to cultivate new friendships. I believe that one of the greatest ways I live my faith is by being a mother who seeks to raise children of character and faith in Christ. While I am far from perfect, I genuinely strive to develop Christ-like attributes such as being kind, loving, compassionate, and seeking out opportunities to serve those around me. I abstain from alcohol, drugs, coffee, and other addictive substances so that I can remain in control of my actions and have a healthy body. I regularly attend Sunday worship services and particularly enjoy being a member of the women's organization called Relief Society which is known worldwide for its humanitarian work.
