Hi I'm Matt

I've lived in California all my life. Oddly, I am not very tan. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and father first and a plumber, who wears a belt to keep his pants up, second. I have a beautiful wife and 5 children. I also have another child who we have semi-adopted. Their ages range from 8 to 24, so there is always something going on at home! I like to play video games with my children and help with homework. I also like to help around the house so that we can all enjoy time together or alone. In the evenings, when the little ones are settled in, I like to snuggle up with my wife and watch a TV show. I enjoy camping and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

My religion is very important to me and plays a large part in who I am today. I can't say that I had an epiphany that changed my life or suddenly made me know that the LDS church was true. No, my conversion was more subtle and gentle. As I studied and prayed about this gospel, I slowly gained a testimony that this church holds ALL the answers to life's questions. I came to realize that we have a loving Heavenly Father and that he has a plan for his children. He is very active in guiding the affairs of his kingdom on earth. I know that we have a Savior who paid for our sins and is willing to help us get back to our Father's presence. We just need to repent, obey the commandments he has given us and keep working on becoming better all our lives. I know the Book of Mormon to be true and have put Moroni's challenge of reading, pondering and praying about it's truthfulness to the test.

How I live my faith

I am very active in our ward and have helped in many positions of our church. I have been a Scout Master, Sunday School Teacher, Nursery Leader (my favorite) and have had many opportunities to serve and lead. I love to help and serve others and our church gives all of us many chances to do this. Not only for its members, but for the community and world as well. I have been privileged to help the youth of our area to grow and develop. In some cases, with my own children in the group! This was a bit challenging, but helped to draw us closer. I hope to be able to continue to serve my Lord and Savior for many years to come.
