Hi I'm Joe

I'm a Mormon. I was raised in Wyoming. I'm a convert to the church. I love baseball, exercising and the outdoors.

About Me

I love athletics particularly baseball, golf, fishing, hiking and coaching youth. I am a father of 5 great children. I was able to coach all five (4 boys, and 1 sweetheart daughter) of my kids in baseball at various stages of their lives. I am a BYU graduate and worked with the 1984 National championship football team as a strength and conditioning trainer. I now work as a cardiovascular sonographer (medical imaging) for the past 22 years. I really enjoy our extended family members , and the time we spend in the mountains of Arizona camping and fishing. My most precious gifts are my dear wife of almost 28 years, and 5 wonderful children.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. I joined the church during my junior year of high school. I was fortunate to have a great group of friends that shared the gospel with me. I went to seminary for almost a year, studying the Bible- life of Christ, and the Book of Mormon which provided me with a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. I joined the church when I was 17, and was blessed to serve a mission when I turned 19. I served in the Canada Halifax Mission. My mission was a great blessing in my life. It allowed me to find happiness in serving people, and teaching others about the Savior and his teachings. My love of the scriptures has grown over the years as I've read, pondered and tried to apply their teachings in my life. I am greatful for the Saviors life and example. I try to follow his example, but fall short in many ways. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a way of life for which I'm grateful.

How I live my faith

I enjoy my service in the church. I have been blessed to serve the youth of the church in most of my church callings. I served as scoutmaster (Boy Scouts of America), Varsity scout coach, and Venture leader. Through my service with these youngmen I was blessed to spend time with each of my 4 boys for extended periods of time. I have hiked the Grand Canyon and Superstitition wilderness, climbed the second highest peak in Arizona, fished the best trout steams of the White mountains and many other fun outdoor experiences with these youth, and my boys. How lucky can a father be! The church is about serving others and I know that through this service my boys have learned how to work and help other people. My wife and I have been blessed to see one of our sons serve a mission and reap the joys of misson service that I did many years ago. The younger boys are preparing to serve when they turn mission age. My wife and I are looking forward to serving as a missionary couple in the future. We have so much to look forward to in the church, and the opportunities it provides.
