Hi I'm Michael

I'm a senior in college preparing to enter the rest of my life. I lived in Nebraska, Utah, and Brazil. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a senior in college about to enter the rest of my life. It's a pretty crazy stage of life, I'm glad to be finishing up my school. Growing up I wanted to be an architect because I loved building and made some cool things with my legos, but since then I decided to study business management. I really enjoy business management because it still allows me to build and design things, but instead of lifeless structures, I get to build and strengthen people and companies. After my first year at school I decided to go on a two year church mission, so I turned in an application and received an assignment to live in northeastern Brazil. Picking up and moving to Brazil was not very easy, but it was a life changer. First off, I had to learn Portuguese; however, for a boy who failed high school Spanish, it came pretty easily. The greatest things I learned from my time in Brazil is that God loves everyone and that everyone deserves a second, third, or hundredth chance in life. I'm grateful for the lives I was able to impact and the lasting effect those people had on me. I have been back for a few years and enjoyed a fairly easy time in college. I was lucky to get a job in Portland, Oregon after I graduate. I'm not sure what awaits me there, but look forward to the adventure.

Why I am a Mormon

My high school buddies used to (and still do) call me the Mormon. So it's pretty normal for me to say I'm a Mormon. I'm a Christian. When I was a little kid I spent my Sunday afternoons playing with my siblings and watching animated scripture cartoons. As I grew my parents always brought me to church on Sunday and taught me stories about the prophets and Jesus Christ. You could say I was "groomed to be Mormon", and maybe I was, but that is not the only reason I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because when I go to church and when I read the scriptures and when I pray to my Father in Heaven I feel happy. And I believe we are here to be happy, life is all about having joy.

How I live my faith

It's hard to be perfect. The Lord asks us to be perfect and teaches us how to be like He is, but still, no one can do that. I try though, I think we have to try. But we should just accept that we will stumble and fall and that we need to just trust in the Savior to forgive us. I live my faith by loving God, talking to Him through prayer daily, reading the scriptures, and helping those around me.
