Hi I'm Sean

I can count to 20 with my hands and feet, tell time, run backwards and I'm a mormon.

About Me

Hello, my name is Sean Burnham. I am from California and I have been a member of this church my whole life. I have been incredibly blessed to have grown up in a family with such strong beliefs and high standards. I am learning new things everyday and I absolutely love life. Yo hablo español and right now I am serving a mission in Raleigh North Carolina sharing the gospel and blessings that I have come to love so much. I am a student at BYU. I am very active in sports and love music. I have been playing basketball since as long as I can remember. I love to hang out with my friends and play a little super smash brothers. You could say there's a nerd down there somewhere. I enjoy making people laugh and just having a good time. I love being LDS and all the blessings it has brought to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in this church but I would say that it wasn't until my teenage years in highschool that I really gained a firm testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that it was translated by the prophet Joseph Smith through the power of God. I never recieved any amazing manifestation of this truth or had angels come to show me the light, I simply took the challenge made in the Book of Mormon and after reading it all the way through I asked my Heavenly Father if this was true. Through my feelings I was given the answer that Yes, this is the truth and the fulness of His gospel. I know that Jesus is the Christ and because he atoned for each of us He knows us perfectly so that He can comfort us and be our advocate with the Father. I know that this church is the true restored church of Jesus Christ on the earth today. I am a mormon because I know that this is the only church that brings families closer, brings myself closer to God, and offers more blessings than we can possibly imagine.

How I live my faith

I am a member of this church and I attend church every sunday for the spiritual refreshment I need. I am currently living my faith by being a missionary for the church, spreading the message and inviting others to come unto Christ by helping them recieve the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism, Recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. I am seeing the hand of God touch peoples lives and even more, touching my life. I am learning daily and trying to become what my Father in Heaven wants me to be. I know the blessings it can bring and I am constantly trying to build on that faith by reading or listening to the words from our prophets and applying them daily.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Well it's really simple. Just read a little of the Book of Mormon and then ask God if it is true. How much easier can it be? Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

We pay tithing because, well first of all everything we have has been given to us by our Heavenly Father so we give a little back of what he has so lovingly given us. Second it is a commandment that we have been given and God blesses us based on our obedience to Him. So by allowing us to show our love to our Heavenly Father and giving ten percent of what we have been given, He can bless us with more than we can even give back. No matter how obedient we are, we are always going to be in debt to our wonderful Creator. Show more Show less
