Hi I'm Stuart

I am serving a mission in Ft. Lauderdale Florida and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary right now. I was serving in Orlando then I got switched to the Ft. Lauderdale mission here in Florida. I love music playing it or listening to it, sports like tennis, swimming, and racquetball, and helping others out. I especially love A Capella and I am still thinking about what I am to do in College, that is also a part of me that I am still working on, indecisiveness. One other thing that I love to do is, to make people smile! I have a ridiculously funny face and a laugh that goes with it. I am 21 years old. I especially love being a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon and I saw everyone in my family and those around me have just so much joy. It really frustrated me why I didn't feel the same way like in church, people said they felt the spirit so strong and I didn't feel the same way and I didn't know why, I prayed, read, and went to church and no real difference or change. I found out it was my sincerity. I then, felt like I really wanted happiness and joy so I fasted and prayed and I received my answer that it was true and then I was really happy. Also, as a missionary you meet a lot of people with different backgrounds and trials. The most common trial I see in the world is the braking up of the family. I love how this church helps families stay together not just for this life, but also for life after death. The main part I love about the Gospel is that we believe that families can be together forever! I know all of this is true because I have a testimony of it and it just keeps on growing stronger each day.

How I live my faith

When a man is 19 or so he can decide weather he should serve a mission or not. I chose to be a missionary. We are the guys you see that are wearing white shirts and ties. We go out almost anywhere in the world and testify that we are part of the true church and we want all to feel the Savior's love and joy in their and their families lives. I also try to live my faith everyday. If I don't, I miss all the blessings from doing so. We believe, in our church, that every blessing we get is from obedience to a certain law. I want all of God's blessings so I want to be exactly obedient. Try it! I promise it will work for anyone, anytime, and anywhere.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

I believe that God is not a god of confusion nor is he of chaos, but he is a god of order and of understanding. If an ice-cream man pulled you over on the road and said "Sir, you were going 15 over, here is a ticket for speeding." What would you do? I would ask him to show me his badge and then I would be on my way. The same reason why we have the priesthood, or the authority from God, to make sure the ordinances required for salvation would be done under someone who has the go ahead from God. I know that I can trace my authority straight to Jesus Christ himself. Authority is needed because order is needed, without it there would be chaos! Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes we do.We love and cherish the Bible and we need it to know the life of Jesus Christ. We use it hand in hand with the Book of Mormon. They help us understand of our purpose on earth and what God wants for us as his children in this life. The main difference is of where they originated. The Bible is from the Jerusalem and Egypt area and the Book of Mormon is from the Americas. They were both written by prophets who were inspired of God. Show more Show less
