Hi I'm Jared

I'm a missionary, a carpenter, a gamer, a nerd, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love wood working. I enjoy making things out of wood and doing things with my hands. I've crafted many different things, anywhere from as simple as pens to a desk. I enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy being in nature, surrounded by God's creations. I like to work with computers. I enjoy playing video games. I love to have fun. I have completed a two year degree at Utah Valley University. Currently I am serving a mission for the church in Toronto, Canada. When I return, I plan to continue my education in computers.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because I have read and prayed about the Book of Mormon. I know it to be true and have received an answer to my prayers. I have felt the spirit testify to me the truth of the things taught in this church. I have always been able to find peace, comfort, happiness, joy, love in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I continue to stay strong in the faith because of the many blessings which come into my life because of it. I have a strong family with loving parents and amazing brothers and sisters. I can always find peace when I need it most. I have been able to find answers to questions that I've always had. I have been able to come to a stronger understanding of who I am and why I am. It has given me purpose and direction in my life, and most of all, happiness, peace, and hope.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission in the Canada Toronto Mission, sharing the gospel with others so they too can have the joy that I have felt from the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I try to live as Jesus would have me live. I have always tried to serve others in the community, do simple acts of service, love those I come in contact with, and always reach out a helping hand when someone is in need.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Jared
I am currently a full-time missionary in Canada Toronto Mission. I'm here because the gospel has changed my life and I want to share that with others. We share the gospel because we know it can bless, uplift, strengthen, anyone who will listen. We go out door to door to find those who want to find more happiness in their lives, have a greater relationship with God, and be with their family for eternity. The savior did it. His apostles did it. His disciples did it. And we do it. Show more Show less

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Jared
Missionary service isn't a requirment, it is is a wonderful opportunity to learn, grow, share, and become. All young men, ages 19 and older, are strongly encouraged to accept this wonderful opportunity in the church. It changes lives. It has changed my life as I have served in the Canada Toronto Mission. It changes others lives. I have seen love, hope, faith, strength, enter into peoples lives by me being able to share the restored gospel of Jesus Christ with them. It is a difficult sacrafice to give up two years for full-time voluntary missionary service, but the blessings, joy, friends, skills, and knowldege that come from it, by far compensate.
