Hi I'm Elaine Ardeth

I'm loving my life because I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (they call us Mormons)... ^_^

About Me

I've been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints before i was born and gains wisdom as my parents stayed active at the church till now. Me and my siblings grew up away from our hometown because my dad was working at church and transferred for almost 10+ different houses. Because of that, i always feel so lonely while saying "goodbye" with my friends. As i grow up seeing that the church never changes wherever we go, i was so grateful knowing that the Lord is guiding and comforting me so that i will never feel alone again. I develop an attitude of conversing to the Lord through prayer and faith which enables me to feel closer to my Father in Heaven. I know that He loves me and all of His children like you, He answered some of my prayers and is willing to listen to all my fears, doubts, questions, and stories. He was like a friend to me, teacher, leader, and a lover of my soul. I believe that He knows everything and i owe my life to Him because of Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice. I wanted to show my gratitude and love for Him so I decided and had chosen the right by serving a mission. I am now a representative of Jesus Christ to invite others to have faith in Him and His atonement and to follow Him, repent, be baptize/renew their covenants, receive, obtain, maintain and retain the gift of the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. I will serve God's children who are living in Salt Lake City, Utah, South Mission. And I feel privilege to do so.

Why I am a Mormon

I love learning the facts taught by the church. I love the good things and i'm really guilty when i disobey. I love it when someone shares their testimony about the church and stayed so strong with it. I love the feeling of being a Latter-day Saint. And because of that feeling, I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church here in this earth. When i was just a kid i have been disciplined not to do things that would annoy others especially the Lord. At the church, i learned that i am a child of God and as i turned 8 i made a covenant to be as good as He is. As a daughter of God i wanted to be like my Father in Heaven and let Him know that i love Him too and someday be exalted in His kingdom.

How I live my faith

As i attend ecclesiastic classes(seminary/institute) and then studying the Book of Mormon, praying and pondering about it, i came up reading Doctrine and Covenants 9:8-9 telling me that: "...you must study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right, and if it is right I will cause that your bosom shall burn within you; therefore, you shall feel that it is right..." The first time ever that i have finished reading the Book of Mormon i feel so happy that i can't even explain. Although i haven't seen God through my eyes this feeling inside gave me assurance that what i have read was true. I believe that this is the Spirit of the Lord testifying of the truthfulness of the verses I read. I am striving to be more diligent in reading the scriptures, going to church early, being nice and a good example to my friends and many more things to strengthen my testimony about my faith. I am sharing my beliefs to some of my non-member friends because i want them to know what i know now even though I am not yet a full-time missionary then. But now, as a missionary, I am trying to be like Jesus Christ so that I could always feel and recognize the Spirit of God even though i feel hot, cold, or in pain. I believe that Heavenly Father don't have more than 2 eyes like we do but I know that He assigned angels like our family, leaders, friends to let us feel His love, guidance, assurance, inspirations, etc. I know that families means "forever" and I hope to be with God again someday.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Elaine Ardeth
As i learn the perfect character of Jesus Christ from the scriptures i feel so good about his ways and judgement. I reflected about it and was urged to follow His examples. Because of the faith i have with Jesus, I was able to do good and think good. I do chores willingly, having patience, saying nice and kind words, staying active at church, being fair and fixing my wrong doings. While doing this, my problems are light and easy, my friends trusts me, and i know that God is happy. And I know that because i love the Lord, my love for others is sacred and holy and i hope i could always make others feel the love i have for them through the power of the Holy Ghost. =) Show more Show less

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

Elaine Ardeth
Because our Father in Heaven knew that we will commit mistakes as we walk through this mortal life He sent His beloved son, Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ showed us what perfection means through his example and invited us to follow His footsteps. He loved us that's why He sacrificed Himself to the Lord as a way for us to be forgiven when we believe in Him. Jesus Christ is my savior. Because of His sacrifice, i will be forgiven of my sins as i repent. I need Him in my life because He knows all the pains and sorrow that i can have in this world. As i realize that He had died for me, i am urged to follow Him and make Him happy as i keep the commandments. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Elaine Ardeth
A temple is literally a house of the Lord, it is the most holy of any place of worship on the earth. Sacred ordinances are performed inside that is why we must be worthy before we can enter there by keeping the commandments such as regularly attending church sacraments, church meetings and activities; reading the scripture; pray regularly; sustain the leaders of the church; keep the word of wisdom and many other things to do. We do this because of our faith in the Lord that these ordinances (baptism for the dead, family sealing, temple marriage, etc.) are essential in His plan of salvation. I believe that families can be together forever. I know that the Temple is the House of the Lord and i love visiting His House to offer my service in building up His kingdom. Show more Show less
