Hi I'm Carly

I'm a dental hygienist, I've lived in the Middle East, I love being a new mom, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Six months ago my first baby was born and we've been going nonstop ever since! He is the cutest thing and we love him to pieces. Prior to his birth, I graduated with a degree in Exercise Science and Dental Hygiene and was working full-time as a hygienist. I went from cleaning teeth all day to cleaning drool and diapers all day, and I've never felt such satisfaction. In college I had the opportunity to study abroad in Jerusalem for 4 months and had many life-changing experiences. I felt like I got to know the Savior while walking where he walked. That same year I met the most incredible man, and we've been married for over three years now. During times when I should be taking a nap, I enjoy reading, cooking, baking, decorating, being active, traveling, singing, party planning, and being with friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was born into a strong LDS family, I had to decide for myself what I believed. Seeds of truth were planted by my parents, but my testimony was shaped and solidified by many experiences I've had in my life. One such experience happened when I was sixteen years old. I was on a trip across the country visiting historical sites when I contracted a life-threatening illness. At one point in the hospital, I was told I had a 50% chance of surviving. It was at this time that I felt an overwhelming calm come over me and I knew Heavenly Father was very aware of me personally. After that, I knew no matter what my blood work said, I was going to get better. To this day and to the surprise of many, I have no lasting effects from my illness. It was a time I felt Heavenly Father's constant presence. I can say now that I'm grateful for that experience because it has become the foundation of my faith.

How I live my faith

I am now enjoying teaching youth 14 and 15. I love that age group because they have so many things to look forward to and I enjoy getting them excited for it!
