Hi I'm Valerie

I'm a college student who loves baking and crafting. I love my family and my roommates! I'm a Mormon and I love this gospel!

About Me

I am the oldest of five kids in my family. I enjoy having fun with my siblings and watching movies with them. Something I discovered that I love doing once I got to college is baking! Ask my roommates - I'm always baking something :) I also love crafting, which is clearly evident if you look in our apartment! I am currently studying Communication Disorders at school and hope to become a Speech Therapist one day. I absolutely LOVE kids! I hope that I can help make a difference in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I wanted to know for myself if the church was true, so I read The Book of Mormon. As I would read this book, I felt a special feeling of peace and love. I began to notice how each day, my life started to get better and better. When I finished reading the book, I prayed and asked God if it was true. I had this overwhelming feeling of joy come over me as well as this thought that told me I already knew it was true. As I had read this book and followed its teachings, I realized that I had started to become a better person. I noticed the little things in life that God had been helping me with all along. I began to recognize my individual purpose in life and knew that the church would help me to live in a way in which I could be happy.

How I live my faith

The most important way I live my faith is through example. I love to help people out and give service in school as well as to my neighbors. It all comes down to the little and simple things- being a friend to those who need it, smiling at someone, baking someone a plate of cookies, writing someone an appreciative note, helping a family with their kids, volunteering with organizations or service projects, etc. There are so many little things that can be done to help brighten someone's day and I love when I can be apart of it!
