Hi I'm Gizelle

I have 22 wonderful grandchildren all over the USA. I love being a grandma and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my family, researching family history, the holidays (all of them), sewing and traveling. I also enjoy oil painting and dream about have a log cabin someday where my entire family can gather.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 17 my boyfriend told me we could be sealed in the temple for time and all eternity, not just until death. What he was saying rang true to me. My parents had divorced when I was 10. It was devastating to our family. I wanted a "forever family". He baptized me and a year later we were sealed in the temple for all eternity. The gospel brings true happiness and comfort to me.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings me great peace. I didn't understand death and was very frightened of it until I found the gospel. In the past I was afraid to go near a cemetery and now I spend time there searching for ancestors so I can seal them to each other for all eternity. I love working on genealogy or family history. I currently teach the 10 year old youth and my husband and I are wolf den leaders. I visit ladies in my ward and help them when they need it and I work with the local C.E.R.T. program and emergency preparedness board.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Gizelle
Mormon women are just like women all over the world. They are probably your neighbors and you don't even know it. We have the same interests, talents, opinions, loves and dislikes as everyone else. My husband and I reared our six children on a family farm. If one of our babies wouldn't stop crying I could walk out to my husband and hand the baby to him while he was on the tractor. He would drive our baby to the top of a row in the field. By the time he got back to me at the bottom the baby was asleep. We have tried to support each other in most everything. We have problems and challenges like everyone else. We work hard to solve issues we disagree on. Life is full of things that help us grow and learn. Marriage and children will for sure help you grow. I wouldn't change a thing we've been through. Show more Show less
