Hi I'm Russell

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married to my wife Carolee and we have 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. I enjoy doing things with my wife and children. I also enjoy working on computers, and do that for a living. I also enjoy working with my hands. I do woodworking and metal working. I built my own house that my family is currently living in.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised as a member of the church. Both of my parents were also born into the church. As I've spent my life going to church to learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ, and trying to live its teachings, I have come to know that its teachings are true. I have read the Book of Mormon, as well as the Bible and other scriptures and have a strong belief that they are true. The fact that our church is structured the same way as the church that Jesus established as described in the bible also strengthens my testimony that the church is true. Our church is the only one on the earth today that has a living prophet that we believe god reveals his words to. The bible talks about how god has always had prophets to reveal his truths to. If this were not true, we would not have the bible today, or any other scriptures for that matter.

How I live my faith

I go to church each Sunday and volunteer as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America. As a member of the church we have many opportunities to serve in the community. We frequently assist families who are moving into the area, or moving out. I also provide service to my neighbors whenever they are in need. We visit with families each month to see how they are doing and to help in any way they may need it. This is what we call home teaching, as we generally leave a message with the family too. I try to live my life in such a way that is in harmony with the teachings of Jesus Christ and the scriptures. I take opportunities to talk with friends and neighbors about my beliefs too. I try to vote for elected officials that have good morals and hold similar beliefs to mine.
