Hi I'm Chanda Romney

I love running. I study biology and play piano. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a junior in college studying pre-professional biology. I have recently finished a successful cross-country running career, with my last race in an intercollegiate national competition in Kentucky. I like to dance, play piano, sing, swim, and bake cookies. Someday I want to have a family, be a medical professional, and make a positive difference in the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Having grown up in an LDS home, I was introduced to the gospel at a young age. My parents are very faithful members of the church, and my home was a happy home. As I got older, I began to question whether I believed in this church just because my parents did or not. Through daily study, prayer, and church activities, the Holy Spirit witnessed to me many times that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me, and that the Book of Mormon is true. In a world that tries to convince young women that they aren't good enough, I found a source of solace in my Father in Heaven. I know He has a plan for me, that He has given me what abilities and skills I need to fulfill His plan. I intend to do exactly that because I love Him too, and I know that is what will make me happy!

How I live my faith

Throughout the past few years I have led youth activities, taught lessons, organized singles events, offered prayers, sang in choirs, and helped with missionary efforts. Serving in the church brings so much joy into my life! One of my favorite parts of my religion is my daily study of the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other church literature. My day goes so much better when I put the Lord first!

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Chanda Romney
Church is the place where we go for weekly worship and for other activities. We pray, sing, and are taught the gospel at church, and we invite anyone interested to join us in our meetings. A temple is a sacred house of God where we perform special ordinances that are needed for salvation such as eternal marriage. Because the temple is sacred, only members of the church who are obeying God's commandments can enter. Anyone who wants to enter is welcome if they are willing to obey God's commandments.
