Hi I'm Allison

I'm a Utah native, I'm a California transplant, I'm a soon-to-be Texan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a small town girl who grew up both in Utah Valley and the Central Valley of California. I am the youngest of five children, and I was blessed with four amazing older brothers. My greatest joy in life comes from spending time with my family from my parents, to my brothers and their wives and especially my adorable nieces and nephew. I have a passion for music and singing and I have always loved being involved in school and church choirs, musicals, and other theatre productions. I also love to play tennis. I am part way through obtaining a degree in Early Childhood Education from Brigham Young University. I have always loved to learn and had a desire to share my learning and knowledge with others, especially little children. However, I have decided to take a break from school and serve as a full-time missionary for the church. I have been called to serve in Fort Worth Texas and I cannot wait for the adventures that await me there!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because, although I was born into a family who already had access to the teachings of the Church, I always knew that I had to learn for myself whether or not it was true. In order to figure this out for myself I spent, and continue to spend, countless hours reading the Book of Mormon, listening to the words of the modern day prophet, and earnestly praying to my Father in Heaven to know if these things are truth or folly. As I have prayed, and still today as I pray, I receive a peaceful feeling overwhelm my soul confirming these truths in my life. I have received this witness and consequently a testimony that Jesus Christ is my Savior and my friend and that He died for me because He loves me. His atonement means more to me than I can express. Forgiveness and repentance is a beautiful thing. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who can see my divine potential and has a plan for my life that is greater than I can even imagine. I know that my through this gospel my family can be together forever, which is the most amazing blessing in my life. I know that Jospeh Smith is and was a prophet of God and that we still have living prophets on the earth today who help us know the will of God in our lives. I'm a Mormon becasue the gospel of Jesus Christ brings a light and clarity to my life that I love, and never want to be without. It brings a purpose to my life, joy to my heart, and peace to my soul.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving and heIping those around me so that they may feel the love of the Lord in their lives, just as I do. I love to serve! Service within the church has been a blessing to me in times of great happiness and even more in times of trial. The Church teaches that blessings comes to those who forget themselves and look for ways to help others, and I testify that this is true. I have had the opportunity to be involved in youth functions from food drives, to raking leaves, to singing to the elderly, to even helping with our community Christmas Baskets project. As I serve I can feel and even see the Savior's hand in my life and in the lives of those around me, it is fantastic. I have also been given many opportunities to serve in leadership and teaching positions within the church which has taught me valuable lessons about the wonderful and lasting relationships and blessings that can occur from doing the will of the Lord. I live my faith by keeping the standards set by the Church. I choose to be morally clean, to be honest, to abstain from drugs, alcohol, and other addictive substances because I love my Savior and I respect the cousel of His prophets. I do it because of the respect that I have for myself and for others. I do it because it allows me to be a witness of Jesus Christ.
